Naxos Town (Chora of Naxos), the capital of the largest island of the Cyclades, is built on the site of the ancient city of Naxos<\/a>, on the west coast. In Chora of Naxos you literally have everything at your feet. Cafes, shops, banks, pharmacies, entertainment venues and everything you need is located in the picturesque center of the island. Whether you visit it in winter or summer, Chora is ideal for relaxing and enjoyable holidays at all times of the year. CHORA OF NAXOS: SIGHTSEEING<\/h2>\n

If you are a history buff and enjoy touring archaeological sites, Chora is the place for you. Portara, the huge marble gate of the Temple of Apollo, the archaeological site of Grotta, the Venetian castle are some of the monuments you can visit in Chora and which are indicative of the history of the island and the culture that developed on it.
